This site was not developed with the intention of drawing a large number of visitors using trivial methods and shallowness. There is rejoicing among the angels of God over even one sinner that repents and believes in Jesus Christ. (Luke 15:10) If, for as long as this site exists, only one sinner is led to repentance and belief in Christ with the aid of the material presented here, the purpose of this site has been served.
Is it true that God is not willing that any should perish? I believe so. The question is really, though, "Any of whom?" Pastor Jim McClarty explains 2Peter 3:9 in this video.
In fact, I'm using it right now. Head to the Marketplace to pick it up if you're interested. It seems to be a great little tool for thoughts you may have on the go. It even has a picture posting option.
"Is John 3:16 "the gospel in a single verse"? And does it effectively counteract the Reformed notion of God's sovereignty in salvation? That's what we discuss in this short video, with a bit of exegesis and word study." - Jim McClarty
I'm happy to announce that Dr. James White is coming to Southern California (Bellflower) March 11 and 12th in an event sponsored by Trinity Law School. The two lectures will be "The Reliability of the New Testament Text" and "Conducting Debate to the Glory of God" (ie. how to stand strong and steadfast in debate without compromising integrity, your faith, etc.) Please see the flyer below for more info, and, of course, feel free to comment with any questions. If you are planning to attend, please call the school at (800)922-4748 to RSVP during normal business hours.. This is a free event.
I've appreciated Pastor Jim McClarty's teaching for quite some time. Now, he's decided to take the journey to the Tube. I believe this is a channel you will appreciate. You can subscribe here.
For those who haven't heard, recently on Chuck Smith's "Pastor's Perspective" radio show, he gave something other than a correct pastor's perspective when a young lady called in struggling with the pressure from doctors to have an abortion. You can read about the event and listen to the clips here: (LINK).
Abortion is nothing more than the idolatry of convenience through the means of murder. It is one of the greatest evils of our time. Even though I don't comment on the issue as much as some, I can't understand how someone, much less a pastor, can condone such an action and then play politics when he's called out by others. Apparently pro-autonomous-choice theology can affect other areas of our thinking as well.
If you're struggling with the idea of abortion, please take the time to watch the following video. Try to think unselfishly. It may just save a life (literally).
The following two media items from the great Francis Schaeffer are very helpful resources as well.
To put this video in context, a woman by the name of Gail Riplinger wrote a book called "New Age Bible Versions" where she argued just about everything imaginable in support of the KJV being the only translation that worth its salt. Dr. White had a debate with her and sometime later shot this video with Larry Wessels of Christian Answers. First, here's that video:
I remember the first time I saw the following video. I was young in the faith and was looking for the best Bible translation I could find so, inevitably, I came across this episode of Gail Riplinger explaining the "perversions" of other translations on The Prophecy Club show. For me, the following goes down in history as one of the more irrational theological conversations I have ever had the privilege to hear (right along with one-half of the infamous debate Dr. White had with Lou Rugg; I'll let you guess which half). Here's the video, but be forewarned, you may come away from this worrying that the soap you use or the tea you drink could sink a Titanic. (If you watch it, you'll get the joke.)
Finally, here's the book Dr. White wrote some time ago that deals with the entire King James Only Controversy.
