About this blog:

This site was not developed with the intention of drawing a large number of visitors using trivial methods and shallowness. There is rejoicing among the angels when even one sinner repents and believes in Jesus Christ. (Luke 15:10) If, for as long as this site exists, just one sinner is led to repentance and belief in Christ with the aid of the material presented here, the purpose of this site has been served.

A Lover's Quarrel with the Evangelical Church (Warren Cole Smith)

      Wednesday, February 10, 2010

This is a lecture given by author Warren Cole Smith on the subject of some things he sees wrong in evangelicalism (namely mega-churches) and some suggestions on what needs to be done to change these. Smith approaches this subject as one of a lover of the church who sees things that concerns him yet wants to rebuke it in terms of love and not as some critic just hurling criticisms at it for no other reason than to cause strife.
The book Mr. Smith has written on this subject is the January 2010 Resource of the Month. The book goes more in depth to the issues discussed here. To purchase the book, "A Lover's Quarrel with the Evangelical Church", click here: http://bit.ly/8xKk4n

You can hear an episode of the White Horse Inn where Smith was a guest here:

You can hear an episode of Iron Sharpens Iron where Smith was a guest here.:

Thanks to Mr. Smith for allowing me to host this video on my Youtube channel.

      Hi Lane,

I'm a fellow Christian young man and a recent convert to reformed theology. I just wanted to thank you for posting on your blog and on your youtube channel - I'm always built up in my faith whenever I read an article or watch one of your videos (especially the debates and Paul Washer sermons). Keep up the good work!

By the way: if you ever want a new custom Blogger design, you let me know - no charge.

Such a timely message for the evangelical church. Jesus called us to make disciples and we are to trust in God's sovereignty and His ability to convert sinners who are dead in trespasses and sin to saints when we preach the gospel.
