About this blog:

This site was not developed with the intention of drawing a large number of visitors using trivial methods and shallowness. There is rejoicing among the angels when even one sinner repents and believes in Jesus Christ. (Luke 15:10) If, for as long as this site exists, just one sinner is led to repentance and belief in Christ with the aid of the material presented here, the purpose of this site has been served.

Cultural "Christianity" and the Emergent Church
      (Francis Schaeffer)

      Monday, February 25, 2008

Francis Schaeffer died in 1984. Even before then, though, he could see things creeping into the church that had no business being there. His suggestion? He suggested to make sure there is a line drawn in the sand; to make sure there is a differentiation between theose who hold to a full view of Scripture and those who do not and for those that do to not associate with those that don't without preaching repentance from their unbelief. I agree with the late Dr. Schaeffer.

Lane, you are right on. We have spoken with many a pastor these days who think that mingling with the world and adopting their techniques, marketing and ultimately the cultural message. It is more common today to incorporate the ways of man, the culture and pop-psychology, than it is to stand on the wholesome Word of God.
