Lord willing, I'm going to start a post every week called, "Thought of the Week." If I'm ever off (according to Scripture), please email me and correct my mistake. Here's this week's:
"Pop-theology is like pop-music. They both endure only for a short while, their successes are measured by the amount of people who "buy what they're selling", and are only as truth-bearing and foundational as the ignorance their respective audiences will allow without hurting the bottom line. In pop-music, the bottom line is sales; in pop-theology, the bottom line is attendance. In pop-music, if the sales drop, drop the artist that is not bringing in the numbers and sign another act. In pop-theology, if the attendance drops, drop the parts of "evangelism" that are not bringing in the numbers and sign another gimmick."
